2019 Tempranillo

Oak Regime:  100% French Oak Barriques
Alcohol:  13.5%

"Vibrant ruby in colour, the 2019 Tempranillo is packed with ripe raspberry, cherry, and plum aromas, along with a hint of fresh cream. This bold fruit expression is complimented by subtle savory notes, such as cedar, licorice, and fresh sage. Maturation in seasoned French oak barrels for 16 months has allowed the essence of the Tempranillo grape to shine through. The rich concentration and velvety ripe tannins suggest this full-bodied wine can continue to evolve over the next decade, making it a great candidate for cellaring."
Ross Wise, Winemaker

The 2019 growing season started slowly due to cool weather in April and May, but a very warm June and July quickly made up for any lost growing time. After a warm and dry August, September brought cooler than average weather with intermittent rainfall, which slowed down the harvest for later ripening red grapes. Thankfully favorable weather returned shortly after, and the majority of Bordeaux varieties were harvested in the first two and a half weeks of October.
