"Vibrant ruby in colour, the 2018 Tempranillo is packed with fresh cherry, strawberry, and red currant aromas, alongside delicate floral notes. The youthful fruit expression is complimented by subtle savory aromas such as white pepper, dried herbs and licorice. Maturation in seasoned French oak barrels has allowed the essence of the Tempranillo grape to shine through, and imparted hints of vanilla and spice. The crisp acidity and fine tannins make this medium bodied wine a great partner for game, rack of lamb or hard cheeses."

The 2018 growing season was cooler than average due to unseasonable weather from early August to early September. This cold snap slowed the ripening of the grapes, but thankfully warm and dry weather from late September right through to early November provided the opportunity to make up for lost time, and good levels of maturity were achieved across the board. The 2018 vintage produced grapes with intensely aromatic fresh fruit flavours and crisp acidity, both of which are hallmarks of cooler vintages such as this.
