2017 Pinot Noir

Oak Regime:  100% French Oak
Alcohol:  13.0%

"Sourcing grapes from multiple sites across the Naramata Bench has resulted in a wine with great complexity, and lead to a true and pure expression of this premium Pinot Noir sub-appellation. Pure red cherry and ripe raspberry aromas combine with mushroom and earthy notes, so typical of the variety. There is a blanket of fine tannins on the palate, and fresh acidity frames a long and balanced finish. Well integrated French oak spice adds another layer, and hints of violet evolve with more time in the glass. Ready to drink now, this wine will also reward a further 3-5 years in the bottle."
Graham Pierce, Winemaker

Following a long cold spring and late start to the growing season, the 2017 summer was both warm and dry, resulting in small and highly concentrated berries. A cool August and September followed, which allowed the grapes to retain intense fruit aromatics and fresh natural acidity. Due to the slow cool weather after veraison, each parcel of fruit was allowed along ripening period, leading to impressive flavor and tannin maturity.
