PDF Tasting Notes

“This Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon Bordeaux blend opens with tropical notes of juicy pineapple and mango with hints of granny smith apply and lemon peel. Bright racy acidity shows through with grapefruit notes but is balanced by a creamy and round texture resulting from the batonage process the Semillon underwent during its time in neutral puncheons. This Alibi’s freshness combined with its medium body would pair beautifully with seafood, particularly scallops.”
Graham Pierce, Winemaker

“Record warm temperatures through April, May and most of June led to a great beginning to the 2016 vintage. With the early bud break and excellent growth early in the season, the cooler weather in July helped to prolong the ripening, adding desirable complexity to the flavour in the grapes. August saw temperatures return to their normal levels and near-perfect ripening temperatures throughout the fall and into the harvest resulted in mature, well-balanced fruit of outstanding intensity. The wines will reflect this excellent vintage.”
