2020 Viognier

Maturation: Stainless Steel Tanks and Neutral French Oak Puncheons
Alcohol: 13%

“The 2020 harvest in BC’s Okanagan Valley is already being touted as one of the best in recent years, marked by a warm, dry spring and consistent temperatures throughout the Fall season. We are excited to showcase this 2020 Viognier, which exhibits pronounced aromas of dandelion, chamomile, and white peach. Further, on the nose one will find subtle spice notes of dried ginger and nutmeg. This wine is full bodied and juicy on the palette, bursting with flavors of nectarine, preserved lemon, and Japanese pears. This dry white wine is showing well now and can be enjoyed over the next 4 years.”
Ross Wise, Winemaker

The 2020 growing season got off to a slow start with a cool and damp spring and flowering period. However, a dry and warm July, August and September allowed the vines to quickly able to make up for lost time. With smaller than average crop levels and perfect ripening conditions from September through to Thanksgiving, the fruit was able to achieve excellent flavour and phenolic ripeness, and was harvested with high levels of concentration and aromatic intensity. An outstanding vintage that has produced bold white wines that are full of character.
