The Cabernet Sauvignon brings vibrant purity and freshness, layering aromas of blackcurrant, wild blackberry, and dark cherry with subtle notes of violet and cedar. Syrah adds depth and complexity, contributing nuances of cracked black pepper, smoked herbs, and warm stone. On the palate, lifted fruit from the hillside Cabernet leads the way, while the Syrah’s savoury character and mineral-driven complexity emerge through the mid-palate, revealing flavours of cassis, plum, olive tapenade, and baking spice. Vintage Notes
The 2024 Ipso Facto brings together two of Walla Walla Valley’s most compelling expressions: hillside Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah from The Rocks District. The 2024 vintage was a cooler-than-average spring which slowed early vine development across much of the region. As the season advanced into late August and September, cooler night time temperatures introduced the diurnal shift needed for flavour development and the retention of natural acidity. Fortunately, fall frosts held off until November, giving the fruit exceptional hang time in the lower-lying vineyard blocks. These favourable late-season conditions, combined with attentive vineyard management, culminated in a successful and balanced harvest.
