2022 Addendum
Okanagan Valley
Wild blackberry, Rainier cherry and damson plum lead on the nose, layered with graphite, cocoa and warm stone. The palate is supple and velvety, with juicy black cherry and blueberry compote alongside dark chocolate and espresso. Fine-grained tannins and bright acidity bring balance to this generous, composed expression of the Okanagan.

Tasting Notes
On the nose, notes of wild blackberry bramble, Rainier cherry, and crushed damson plum unfurl first. Then come softer notes - graphite, cocoa nib, a trace sagebrush and warm stone, a subtle nod to the valley’s sunlit slopes and cool desert nights. On the palate, the Merlot speaks in velvet. It is supple and rounded yet guided by the bright acidity of Cabernet Franc in the periphery. Juicy black cherry and blueberry compote braided with dark chocolate and a touch of espresso. Fine-grained tannins gather gently at the edges. It’s a wine that feels both generous and composed; a quiet, confident expression of the Okanagan’s remarkable balance between opulence and freshness.

Vintage Notes
The 2022 growing season started with temperatures well below seasonal averages in May and June, while rainfall was plentiful. The cool and damp spring delayed budburst and shoot development, and as a result flowering and fruit set occurred up to three weeks later than average. July and August brought a return to more typical weather conditions with warm temperatures, clear skies, and very little rain. This allowed the vines to thrive and make up for any lost ripening time. A warm and dry fall enabled extended hang time, allowing the grapes to reach excellent levels of ripeness. The 2022 wines are textural and elegant, showing great aromatic intensity, vibrant fruit characters, and bright acidity.
