Behind the fruit there is a subtle savory layer of aromas, with hints of black olive, sage and cracked black pepper. French oak spice adds some more depth with notes of dark chocolate and toast. The palate is rich, with soft fine tannins, and fresh acidity frames the long and elegant finish.”

The 2018 growing season was cooler than average due to unseasonable weather from early August to early September. This cold snap slowed the ripening of the grapes, but thankfully warm and dry weather from late September right through to early November provided the opportunity to make up for lost time, and good levels of maturity were achieved across the board. The 2018 vintage produced grapes with intensely aromatic fresh fruit flavours and crisp acidity, both of which are hallmarks of cooler vintages such as this.
