2019 Ipso Facto

Oak Regime:  100% French Oak
Alcohol:  14%

"Ipso Facto is a rich and elegant blend of Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon. The 2019 vintage shows ripe cherry and cassis aromas, along with hints of black olive, dried herbs, and dark chocolate. The palate is dense and mouth filling with concentrated dark fruits and silky tannins. The long finish is framed by ripe berry fruit and fresh vibrant acidity. Drinking well on release, the 2019 Ipso Facto will also reward 5-8 years of cellaring."
Ross Wise, Winemaker

The 2019 growing season started slowly due to cool weather in April and May, but a very warm June and July quickly made up for any lost growing time. After a warm and dry August, September brought cooler than average weather with intermittent rainfall, which slowed down the harvest for later ripening red grapes. Thankfully favorable weather returned shortly after, and the majority of Bordeaux varieties were harvested in the first two and a half weeks of October.
