Tasting Notes:

The intensely aromatic 2020 Carmenere shows ripe raspberry and plum fruit on the nose, along with white pepper, star anise, and subtle hints of licorice and black tea. The palate has impressive richness and concentration, a testament to the exceptional 2020 vintage. Elegant fine tannins contribute to the wines silky texture, while fresh berry fruits continue long on the finish. Very fragrant and enticing in its youth, this Carmenere looks set to become a long-lived vintage, developing further complexity over the next 8-12 years.

Vintage Notes:

The 2020 growing season got o­ff to a slow start with a cool and damp spring and flowering period. However, a dry and warm July, August and September allowed the vines to quickly make up for lost time. With lower than average crop levels and perfect ripening conditions from September through to Thanksgiving, the late-ripening Carmenere was able to achieve excellent flavour and phenolic ripeness, along with high levels of concentration and aromatic intensity. A stellar vintage for South Okanagan red wines.
