Wine Profile
Tasting Notes
Sourcing grapes from multiple sites across the Naramata Bench has resulted in a wine with great complexity, and lead to a true and pure expression of this premium Pinot Noir sub-appellation. Pure red cherry and ripe raspberry aromas combine with mushroom and earthy notes, so typical of the variety. There is a blanket of fine tannins on the palate, and fresh acidity frames a long and balanced finish. Well integrated French oak spice adds another layer, and hints of violet evolve with more time in the glass. Ready to drink now, this wine will also reward a further 3-5 years in the bottle.
Ratings
89 Points - "Ruby colour; a bouquet of black raspberries with evident oak; medium-bodied, dry, lean and sinewy, raspberry flavour carried on lively acidity" - Tony Aspler, The Wine Guy, Feb 2019.
Vineyard Notes
The 2017 growing season was tailor made for Pinot Noir. After a late start to the spring, the summer was both warm and dry, allowing the fruit to enter veraison in pristine condition. A cool August and September followed, which allowed the grapes to retain intense fruit aromatics and fresh natural acidity. Due to the slow cool ripening, individual parcels of fruit could be harvested at peak ripeness.
