Make wine.

What do you do before?  

I was the winemaker at Mt Boucherie Estate Winery in West Kelowna and before that I was the chef at Summerhill.

How long have you been at Black Hills?

Since 2008.s

What’s the best Black Hills event you have been to and why? 

Black Hills Winery Ride because I love getting wine lovers out on bikes. It attracts an awesome group of people.

Red, white, bubbles or rose?

All of the above. I love all wine styles as long as they are well-done and balanced.

Top 3 BC wines other than Black Hills?

Bartier Bros. Winery​ Semillon, Blue Mountain Vineyard and Cellars​ Brut, Orofino Vineyards​ Syrah.

What’s your favourite grape?

Cabernet Sauvignon

When you are not at Black Hills working, what are you doing?

Hanging with my boys or riding my bike or ideally both.

Pets or kids?

Both. We have two sons and a well-loved, elderly golden lab Beau.  

What vacation spot is at the top of your bucket list?


What’s your fav country

Italy for amazing wine and cycling .

If you could acquire a skill or talent with the snap of a finger, what would it be?

Ski like Kelsey Serwa and the rest of the awesome Canadian Ski Cross Team.

Secret talent or achievement or skill people might not know you have?

If I told you it wouldn’t be a secret.

Do them. Cycling or skiing. /p>

Both, sometimes at the same time ;)

Head chef or diner?

Both, I  love cooking for people and I love enjoying the amazing culinary scene in BC.

If you cook, favourite dish to cook?

Stuffed lamb rack with mushroom risotto.

Favourite dish to eat?

I like to eat pretty simply most of the time so something like grilled fresh ocean wise fish on salad.

Favourite pairing ever?

Chardonnay with grilled halibut and vanilla beurre blanc

Recent memorable meal?

Winemaker’s dinner Zest Japanese Cuisine​ in Vancouver.

Favourite TV show?

I know it sounds boring , I love following/watching pro bike racing, some of the most exciting races are the spring classics like Paris-Roubaix and Tour of Flanders.

Favourite Black Hills wine other than NB?

Chardonnay because it’s the unsung hero of the line-up
